Sheltering in Lamorinda

Some “Shelter in Place” strategies…:

It is critical that we be as creative as possible to keep all of us engaged. This is a time to be hyper aware of people being lonely and disconnected. Taking care of ourselves is hugely important, and maintaining the social connections that keep our brains happy and communities strong is crucial, too. Below are some ideas of what we CAN do.
Schedule virtual “hang outs” with family, friends and clients; Skype, Facetime; Virtual conferencing, (Zoom.us and BlueJeans.com)  and time blocking each day for phone calls.
Check on our neighbors and friends. Now is a good time to exchange contact information with your neighbors, especially folks near you who are older or immuno-compromised.
Go outside. Getting some fresh air and exercise will do wonders in high-anxiety situations. And, put social distancing into place during your time outside.
Find creative ways to help others because we are in this together. From offering toilet paper to neighbors and offering a concerned ear to friends, there are endless ways we can make this crisis easier for others in need. We need to brainstorm ways we can make life easier and more joyful for others, as we make sure we are taking appropriate measures for us to be protected and safe.
Re-frame our thinking. A focus on what we CAN do, instead of what we can’t do is important. My wife and I are coming up with a daily “at home” ideal schedule – it includes time blocking for indoor and outdoor exercise. Writing notes to family, friends and clients. Start a gratitude journal. Time for long phone calls with those we care about. De-cluttering projects. Doing things that we are typically too busy to do otherwise.

Some wise suggestions from a reputable seasoned Danville agent. Couldn’t say it better if I tried. We thank-you Jim!
